We’ll tell you more about our experience, history, services, and values.

If you’re interested in how Mahihkan can help you, please reach out to us. We will listen to your needs with care and attention and let you know we can meet your requirements.

We offer a blend of engagement and event planning services that encompasses both Indigenous and non-Indigenous issues.

Anywhere in Canada is fine with us.  We’ve undertaken projects in all provinces and territories except Prince Edward Island, and we’re determined to get there one day, too.  Though our company has Indigenous roots, we don’t limit ourselves to just First Nations, Métis, and Inuit-centered events.  In-person, virtual, or hybrid engagements and events?   We’ve done them all.   Our portfolio of activities includes more than 1,000 projects, involving federal, provincial and local governments, Indigenous organizations, industry, and not-for-profit organizations.

With more than 40 years of delivering engagement and event planning services, when you work with Mahihkan, you will hear the voice of experience.

But while experience is important, we feel it is also important to be clear about our general approach to working on assignments.   Some of the factors we consider vital in undertaking any assignment, large or small, are:

Providing a culturally appropriate, safe, trauma informed, and decolonized approach is critical in all we do, especially in dealing with Indigenous issues.

We see the big picture, and we also realize the big picture is formed by many small details.  We feel it is an important investment of time to listen to the client’s needs, and then developing detailed workplans so that everyone knows who does what, when.

We know where things can generally go off the rails and develop plans to avoid these problems or at least minimize them.   Still, best laid plans can go awry.   When this happens, a professional, cheerful and positive demeanor goes a long way towards resolving the situation.

Our experience tells us that clients want an overall solution to their requirements. Our most important service is really to ensure that clients can focus on the matters at hand, without needless and avoidable distractions.

Our clients deserve the best we can give them. We devote time and effort to ensure that the contractors with whom we work share the same approach, and are oriented to the Mahihkan way of doing things.
